Need a TV repair shop

Postby rmforr2 » Wed Feb 24, 2010 3:50 pm

Anyone know a TV repair shop around here? The picture on my television went out today. I still have sound, but no picture. It is a big projection TV, so I don't want to buy a new one. I know sometimes the parts are almost as expensive as a new one, but I'd like to see what the problem is before I junk it.

Is it a DLP?
A friend of mine got one repaired recently, just needed a bulb. I can find out where he got it done at.

I rolled the dice and bought a bulb online. Luckily, it was just the bulb and was easy to replace. It is a Toshiba DLP. I've had to get it worked on in the past, while under warranty. I'm glad I did it myself. I would have been charged $500+ to replace the bulb and I did it myself for $120.

Of course, if it wasn't the bulb I would have been out the $120 + whatever a repairman would have charged me. Probably would have been time for a new TV.
